The final day was a moment to reflect on the intense week we experienced. It all began in Luxembourg City, a city with an innovative public transport system (free of charge) that contributed to its 1st place in the Access City Award for 2022. Since 2020, the city has also had its City App – VDL, which provides city-wide information while allowing users to interact with officials, from where we began our Experience Europa.
We then moved on to the city that, in 2018, was named Germany’s “Most Digital City,” won the Stadt.Land.Digital award in 2019, and was a finalist for the European Capital of Innovation 2019 – Dortmund. There, we experienced digital immersion and learned how to use technology to promote interactive itineraries.
Next, we headed to the “Venice of the North” – Bruges, a UNESCO World Heritage site, which today strives to be one of Europe’s leaders in combating food waste.
In Brussels, we discovered some of its iconic spots and, with TRANSFORMA BXL, explored new paths for innovation, creativity, and sustainability.
We even managed to explore another UNESCO World Heritage city – Antwerp, which is one of the most important commercial hubs in Northern Europe.
After intense days of discovering Europe, under temperatures that were a bit surprising to us in Central Europe, we were able to cool off at Aqualibi Water Park, part of the Walibi complex, which offers water fun for all ages, with slides, wave pools, and the Kiddie Bay. The Rapido slide, sometimes gently calm and at other times completely wild, was the attraction that surprised us the most. At the end of the day, we had dinner at a typical Belgian restaurant.
